So, the new Terrence Malick is coming:

I don't recall To the Wonder getting as much acclaim for its score as Malick's other films. Wonder what we can expect here!

An interesting trailer. Seems part David Fincher paranoia thriller, part David Lynch Hollywood Horror flick, and part Sofia Coppola shoegaze drama. An intersting perspective from Malick, to say the least.

To the Wonder had a beautiful score. I wasn't adamant about the film outside of the very nice performances from Olga Kurylenko, the young actress that portrayed her daughter, and Javier Bardem (and Lubezki's beautiful cinematography, making even a Sonic drive-in seem like a place of unregistered beauty). But Townshend's score was elegiac and the use of Wagner's Parsifal was also welcome. I have not yet heard Townshend's score for The Better Angels but the samples I perused on iTunes sounded very nice.

Wow. The clunking sounds you hear are the jaws of Malick fans hitting the floor.

I'm stoked beyond belief. Let's hope by "coming soon" they mean VERY soon.
