Don't you love it when they put the LP on the turntable and Christian Bale's character exclaims, "Who starts a song like that?"

In case this thread is film-music-related enough for you, Duke Ellington was a guy who once scored a film called "Anatomy of a Murder." I don't think he ever did anything else, until he was featured in "American Hustle."

That was pretty much the only really good thing about that movie, the song selection. A great playlist. Ellington was an excellent choice, along with the ELO, Elton John etc.

I thought it was an excellent film. The music was the icing.

Ellington also scored the 1961 Paul Newman film PARIS BLUES, but I'm sure his contributions to music end there.

Oh wait, Ellington also scored Frank Sinatra's film ASSAULT ON A QUEEN (1966), but that's it for certain.

Did I forget to mention Ellington's score for 1969's CHANGE OF MIND? That pretty much ended his film scoring days.
