STAR TREK 3---director Justin Lin (FAST & FURIOUS) has replaced departed Roberto Orci. Lin will also direct two episodes of TRUE DETECTIVE.
THE WALKING DEAD---the untitled spinoff series will have Kim Dickens (DEADWOOD, GONE GIRL, TREME) playing the lead female role of a guidance counselor who is having an affair with a divorced teacher played by Cliff Curtis (LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD). The spinoff is set in Los Angeles.
STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS---photo released shows an action figure prototype of mystery character Kylo Ren.
KUBO AND THE TWO STRINGS---animated movie underway set in ancient Japan where a young boy dons the armor suit worn by his dead samurai father to embark on a journey where he battles evil gods and monsters. Voices are provided by Matthew McConaughey, Charlize Theron, Ralph Fiennes, Rooney Mara, Brenda Vaccaro and Art Parkinson.
EVIL DEAD---Bruce Campbell commented on the new Starz series based on the movie, "WALKING DEAD is WALKING DEAD, but we were kind of first.And I would say it's about as big of a counterpart to WALKING DEAD as you could program, because WALKING DEAD is unrelentingly grim and hugely popular. We're going to give people a little of the old fashioned splatstick - horror and comedy.
Something we're doing is taking the horror parts very seriously. We're not making fun of the horror aspects. And it's going to cause Ash - this crabby middle-aged man who doesn't want to get dragged back into this - a lot of problems. He's not the Ash he used to be...
There's jokey horror and horror-horror. When there's a presence in the room, it has to be dealt with because it's an extremely dangerous and volatile situation. Humor may come out of it, but there's nothing funny about a demon ripping somebody's head off. And the beauty of Starz is there's no content issues. Let's face it: Fans want the carnage and the mayhem. So we intend to give them quite the explosion of viscera. Most of it directed at me, unfortunately."
ANGER MANAGEMENT---FX cancelled the Charlie Sheen sitcom due to low ratings. The 100th episode will be the last. Ashton Kutcher commented on rumors that Sheen will return to TWO AND A HALF MEN for Season 12, the last season, "It's uh, I don't know if I'm allowed to talk about it. But I'm scared...Yeah, I'm a little terrified."
MARVEL'S AKA JESSICA JONES---Mike Colter will play Luke Cage in the Netflix series.
MISKATRONIC---horror movie underway inspired by HP Lovecraft and set in the Miskatronic University in the town of Arkham.
PEE-WEE HERMAN---the untitled movie will premiere on Netflix instead of in theaters.
