I doubt many on this board know much of the Croft/Lloyd and Croft/Perry collaborations. Croft himself has already died a few years back, but this is the first of his most well known pairings to pass on. The Croft/Lloyd comedies always seemed to me to be more ripe with innuendo than the Croft/Perrys (although those had their naughty moments!), making the Croft/Lloyds perhaps a little more dated.

Sad news. "Are You Being Served?" -- as bad as it often was -- is still one of my favorite Brit Coms. Lloyd is also one of the last of the British cast of THOSE MAGNIFICENT MEN IN THEIR FLYING MACHINES to die, though amazingly the three main stars, Stuart Whitman, Sarah Miles and James Fox are still with us. Also, Lloyd could have died a horrible death over forty years ago, but he took a nap and it saved his life.

If that's the case, then give me those "dated" and dirty Croft/Lloyds any day of the week.

He was also on "Rowan & Martin's Laugh In"'s first season. R.I.P. Jeremy.
