STAR TREK 3---Roberto Orci confirmed that he also given up co-writing the sequel in addition no longer directing it, "I’m producing, [nothing] more or less." Orci was replaced as director by Justin Lin. Orci also commented on fan hostility to the alternate timeline of the reboot movies, "Stop blaming BR [Bad Robot]. It was my idea so that you would not know what was gonna happen next. Nothing more or less. I Stand behind it. And it, again, is the reason why I make movies and you don't." DOCTOR WHO---the BBC confirmed that Jenna Coleman is returning to the series. Coleman said, “It’s wonderful. I get a whole other series of stories with the Doctor and I couldn’t walk away with the story being unresolved.” JACK RYAN: SHADOW RECRUIT---Chris Pine commented on returning for a sequel, "No. I don't think it made enough money for that to happen. That's one of my deep regrets, that we didn't totally get that right. It's a great franchise and if it's not me then I hope it gets a fifth life at this point. It's just great. I love the spy genre. I hope it's done again and with a great story." EXTANT---the Halle Berry CBS series is being revamped for Season 2. Due to a changed storyline, Michael O'Neill and Hiroyuki Sanada aren't returning. Goran Visnjic and Camryn Manheim will appear only in the first few episodes of Season 2.

Paramount really needs to remove Orci completely from all aspects of Star Trek before its too late. His plot events for Star Trek often lack grown-up credibility, and his public statements are arrogant and deliberately abrasive toward the audience. He doesn't just disagree with his critics, he sets out to demean and belittle them. He's the daddy you see, and we're the children. I find him thoroughly obnoxious.
