Rocky V sounds a little fast to me. Was it really that fast in the film?

Boy how great would it be to really have theses scores available.

I read that Conti actually wrote two scores for "Rocky Balboa" - the first one was rejected because he didn't incorporate enough (or really any) of the original Rocky theme - and seeing as the final score didn't receive a release it would definitely be an interesting project for a label to tackle. I think it would sell, too.

I've always taken a liking to the fierce performance of "Conquest" in the Rocky V intro.

There's not much I like about Rocky V but the version of "Conquest" & the final fight music are pretty good. The way Conti mixed the hip hop beat in with the classic Rocky themes is clever. Always liked that. Rocky III has my 2nd favorite version of "Gonna fly Now". My favorite is from the original Rocky & it hasn't been released either!!

There's loads of music from the Rocky films that should be released. Maybe Conti could conduct a rerecording.

Every time clues for a release are given which ROCKY fits, and then it doesn't happen it just pisses me off all over again. I can't help it, it just does. It's a set that would sell well, how hard can it be?

I just think it's a travesty the original full scores aren't released, they are some of the most iconic and beloved scores ever!

But do keep in mind the reason your dream set doesn't exist is not because the labels are being mean, or have never heard of "Rocky," or don't think it would sell.

Disappointment is one thing, but henry, you seem to take it as a personal affront every time you choose to believe an upcoming set could, in any conceivable way, be a "Rocky" set. Over the years, at least one label head has been very candid that such a set is unlikely.

"Rocky" was the very first soundtrack album I ever owned, way back in 1976. I loved it, and I still do. So please don't take what I'm saying the wrong way. (But I'm also quite satisfied with my "Rocky" soundtrack – yes, I now own it on CD – which actually has more music than the movie.)

You're right, but I can't help it, it bothers me. I love this music so much I can't give up on it.

If a set isn't possible well then how about individual releases, especially for ROCKY V and ROCKY BALBOA? Throw us a bone here! I mean ROCKY IV was released, why aren't the others possible?

A different and much more obdurate licensor. The labels have obviously considered how they can possibly release the other Rocky scores; they aren't new to any of this and they know what's popular.

Have there been other seemingly impossible scores to release that have been released?

Lots of stuff. The Paramount catalog was off-limits until around 2009, and now just about everything under the sun is being released from that studio. The same restriction applied to much of Disney's library until Intrada broke through that barrier. Those are the two biggest examples in more recent time.

Street fight cue from Rocky V

That's a overlay Mix

the basic rythm is from the song KEEP IT UP by Snap - from the ROCKY V album

The song has been looped and then Bill Conti has written some music that has been overlayed into the mix

Was this a first for Conti or has he done something like that before ?

IF THEY EVER release the ROCKY V score i wouls love to have the song album included

a lot of good stuff there including the Alan Menken song perfomed by Elton John - albeit the sound is much of its time
