Inspired by Kev McG's comment on another thread (the "what if there were no internet" one), I wonder if there's scope for an evening out for members in Yorkshire and Lancashire, but of course all comers welcome. I know there are some Liverpudlians who might be up for it, so as much as I'd like to suggest Leeds, Manchester might be the most central.

So how about it Yorkies, Mancs and Scousers? Any interest? And those who are further afield but with access to the area?

Wish I could join up again, like the Newcastle meet-up a couple of years ago. But alas, it's a bit too far for an evening. If you're not too tied up in family and work obligations, however, I recommend that you take part in any of the given film music events in Europe during the year. But yeah -- I realize that's logistics hell.

I have no wish to hijack this thread TG, but I was wondering if there were any FSMers from the North of England going to the Morricone Concert on Thursday 5th February at the 02 in London.

I shall now leave you to discuss the original topic.

Me, for one... With a couple of non-FSM pals who like Morricone without being particular film music fans. We should wear a red carnation or something smile

We're not afraid of a little breeze. We're northerners.

I'm going with my son, the daft thing is, I used to live just a few miles from you at Great Ouseburn, but for some reason we never met up. We are seated in block B3, where are you seated?

It'll do nowt, since the great hurricane that struck the country in 1987, they've always exaggerated how strong the wind is going to be. We, here in the NW are not bothered at all by the current weather warnings.

Hang on - you can travel to Italy but you can't get up north? You know that the current Watford Gap Treaty allows free movement from the south to the north as long as you can get two pure blood northerners to vouch for you.

And as long as you don't keep saying "farkin ell".

No distance then. My wife works in Boroughbridge. So you've moved to t'other side, eh? Can't recall where we are in the O2 - will check the tickets and revert. But really, just look for the people complaining that they can't see and I'll be just in front of them...

Well ! .... quite obviously, the most convenient place to hold such a get-together would be - Sheffield !

It’s nice and central and easy to get to, especially if, like me, you live there !

Wad’ja think, guys ??? big grin

"Yorkies, Mancs, and Scousers." What language are you writing? Those three words do not exist.

Anyway, I want to come, so please send me round trip, FIRST class plane tickets. That will only cost you about $8,000 American dollars, and if I'm there, BillCarson will move volcanoes, scale gigantic cliffs, and swim fjords to get there.
