And the details on Pinocchio are up: Walt Disney Records The Legacy Collection: Pinocchio is a charming album you won’t want to miss. This beautiful book-bound two disc collectible set celebrates the film’s 75th anniversary and features: the original restored soundtrack, 3 new Lost Chord recordings brought to life the way they would have sounded in 1940 and 5 bonus tracks featuring Jiminy Cricket. Plus the book includes enchanting illustrations and original concept art by Lorelay Bove. Disc One 1. When You Wish Upon a Star Performed by Cliff Edwards and the Disney Studio Chorus 2. Little Wooden Head 3. Clock Sequence 4. Kitten Theme 5. The Blue Fairy 6. Give A Little Whistle Performed by Cliff Edwards and Dickie Jones 7. Old Geppetto 8. Off to School 9. Hi-Diddle-Dee-Dee (An Actor’s Life for Me) Performed by Walter Catlett 10. So Sorry 11. I’ve Got No Strings Performed by Dickie Jones 12. Sinister Stromboli 13. Sad Reunion 14. Lesson in Lies 15. Turn on the Old Music Box 16. Coach to Pleasure Island 17. Angry Cricket 18. Transformation 19. Message from the Blue Fairy 20. To the Rescue 21. Deep Ripples 22. Desolation Theme 23. Monstro Awakens 24. Whale Chase 25. A Real Boy Performed by Cliff Edwards and the Disney Studio Chorus Disc Two The Lost Chords of Pinocchio 1. No Strings Performed by Kate Higgins, Cindy Robinson, Randy Crenshaw and Jeff Gunn 2. As I Was Sayin’ to the Duchess Performed by Randy Crenshaw 3. Rolling Along to Pleasure Island Performed by Kate Higgins, Cindy Robinson, Randy Crenshaw and Jeff Gunn Bonus Tracks 4. You (Are a Human Animal) Performed by Cliff Edwards and the Disney Studio Chorus 5. Mickey Mouse Club Book Song Performed by Cliff Edwards and the Disney Studio Chorus 6. I’m No Fool (On a Bike) Performed by Cliff Edwards, The Mouseketeers and the Disney Studio Chorus 7. Safety First/I’m No Fool (In Water) Performed by Cliff Edwards 8. Stop, Look and Listen/I’m No Fool (As a Pedestrian) Performed by Cliff Edwards http://www.disneymusicemporium.com/rgshop/pinocchio/ The Disc 1 track list seems to be the same as the last CD (though it doesn't make it clear if the Little Wooden Head vocal is restored). Aside from the missing vocal, is there any missing music on this one. I'm also surprised they didn't include the "I'm a Happy Go Lucky Fellow" song that was written for this film, but ended up in Fun and Fancy Free.

The Legacy release of PINOCCHIO omits a number of cues from the old soundtrack lp. Wonder if they've lost them. The whole final sequence is gone, starting from Monstro's crashing into the rock wall, up to the final reprise. It has the actual finale, but the sequence of Gepetto's discovery of the lifeless Pinocchio, the mourning sequence back home, the final transformation, and Jiminy Cricket's award of a badge stating "Official Conscience," are all missing. And, many of the extra Jiminy Cricket songs on CD 2 are interesting, used originally on THE MICKEY MOUSE CLUB in the 50's, but they are not the original recordings, but rather taken from lp re-recordings at the time. I got this recording because I hoped it would have the complete tracks, but sure does not, and the extras are pointless. So I ended up getting rid of it. So far, the quality of the DISNEY LEGACY collection releases has been so variable that I'm now wary of them, by definition.

I may have to track down the LP again. Got rid of mine went it was released on CD. I know this goes against conventional wisdom but I also want Monstro's attack with the sound effects heard on the LP. It's how I heard it most of my life and it just seems odd without it on the CD versions of the score.
