Okay, I had a chance to telecine my 16mm print of BRACKEN'S WORLD: "A Score Without Strings". It's an episode about an avante garde composer doing his first picture score and features original music by Jerry Goldsmith.
I have edited the episode and removed all the romantic scenes but you'll still get a chance to enjoy Linda "Nova" Harrison.
I have to apologize for the print. It was struck in the 70's on Eastman stock and has faded to red. My luck. Many Fox tv prints were struck on Fuji and have held up fine. Not this one. Sorry folks.
Cool Ray. Thanks for posting. I saw this on a DVD-R and did a post on it a few years ago I believe. Cool how the composer in the episode is named Jerry and sort of looks like Jerry did around that time with his Beard Van Dyke look. Maybe it was a sort of Fox "in joke' by the writers. Great music for the episode in which Jerry got to do a "Score within a Score" type deal. Cool scoring stage scenes. Fun show!
Many thanks for this glimpse of Jerry Goldsmith's music from a time long ago. Fascinating stuff. Goldsmith must have loved the opportunity to score an episode about his working life.
Hmmm...sorry for bumping the other thread instead of your own, Ray. This didn't come up on my initial search because I was looking for "Bracken's World". One question -- you claim here that you edited out "all" of the romantic scenes. Does that include ones with music by Jerry? If so might you be willing to upload a full version so that I can do a Complete Score Breakdown which is actually complete?
