FRIDAY, JANUARY 23
THE WALKING DEAD---a source claims the title for the spinoff series is FEAR THE WALKING DEAD. It will be set when Rick was in a coma at the beginning of the zombie plague. Also, one of the spinoff's characters will appear in THE WALKING DEAD's Season 6 for six episodes. That character will interact with Team Rick in Georgia then venture to Los Angeles where the spinoff is set.
THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY-PART 1---the sequel was the highest-grossing movie in the US for 2014. MOCKINGJAY grossed $333.2 million which barely edged out GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY which grossed $333.17 million.
DANGEROUS ODDS---Margot Robbie (THE WOLF OF WALL STREET) will star in this Warner Bros. biomovie about Marisa Lankester who helped run the world's largest offshore gambling operation that made $1 billion a year. Lankester was convicted, raped by a Dominican general, imprisoned and escaped to Switzerland.
SUICIDE SQUAD---rumors include Jon Bernthal possibly reuniting with director David Ayer to replace the departed Tom Hardy. Bernthal co-starred in Ayer's FURY and was a candidate to play Rick Flagg before Hardy got the role. Joel Edgerton (ZERO DARK THIRTY) is another possible candidate for the Flagg role.
Also, Gary Sinise is rumored to be playing General Eiling, and Joe Manganiello is reportedly in negotiations to play Deathstroke.
X-MEN: APOCALYPSE---cast additions were announced: Storm--Alexandra Shipp, Jean Grey--Sophie Turner and Cyclops--Tye Sheridan.
SUPERGIRL---Melissa Benoist (GLEE, WHIPLASH) will play Supergirl in the CBS pilot.
AQUAMAN---Karl Urban is reportedly a candidate to play a villain. Also, Noam Murro (300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE) is the top candidate for director.
DOCTOR STRANGE---Chiwetel Ejifor is in talks to star in an undisclosed role.
SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE---new judges for Season 12 are Paula Abdul and Jason Derulo.
