If you have any inteligent questions to ask Ennio Morricone, please, post them here.
I might be doing an interview with him VERY soon and I should be able to post some of his responses.
There is VERY little time left, so sooner the better, please!

This might not class as intelligent, but I'd love to ask him, if there is any chance of a complete release of "Per Qualche Dollaro In Piu"

The question isn't intelligent, but then, neither am I. smile

that counts smile
I am curious about that too, but since it is supposed to be an official interview for a local radio station, this would be probably off the record smile

Could you please ask the Maestro how his work is progressing on Giuseppe Tornatore's production of "Leningrad" and will we ever see it released ?

Grazie.

Is the movie still being made?

IMDB lists only one documentary and upcoming La corrispondenza as Tornatore's future projects.

It seems that Canterville Ghost is also delayed undefinitely or who knows what is its status now...

For real? That's a pretty amazing gig if you get to do that, Lokutus.

Good luck with that.
Remember altho he doesnt speak much english, he understands more than he lets on.
Presumably you speak italian or you are taking a translator?

Ask him if he still gets up at silly o clock and starts telephoning all his friends expecting them to be up???!

There, Thor. I assumed everything ends up sounding like a question in Italian anyway.

I doubt Morricone would know anything about a release of that score, whether complete or regular. But I'm sure he could have some interesting things to say about the process of scoring it -- and his frustrations with the director.

...and my question from that thread still stands...

This has no doubt been answered countless times before but I'm curious why he first decided to score movies based off the script rather than the picture itself, what the initial circumstances were that lead to this approach.

Hey Lokutus, are you sure that you're not going to be interviewing THORricone? In fact, maybe any time there's a composer interview coming up and the interviewer asks fans for potential questions, we should all email our questions to Thor first, because he seems to think he has all the answers anyway.

In regards to "What Dreams May Comes", this was posted in another thread about another interview with him:
Lukas said way back in 2002:

"I did look into this maybe three years ago. At the time PolyGram Films was open to the idea but needed to contact Morricone's people for permission, either contractually or as a matter of policy/politeness. Morricone's reps (I don't know if these are his Italian or LA people) said no for whatever reason and it died there."

Could you do us all an awesome favor and inquire with Morricone directly? I have a feeling the answer is different from him.

How'd you swing the interview, by the way?

The interview is being done for a local radio - no idea what is the connection there.
they approached a friend of mine who won't be able to do it on such short noticed and he passed it to me. Fortunately a few friends will be there too and one actually will be conducting the interview instead of me, but it is still a collaborative effort and we'll see how it goes. Being far more familiar with Morricone's work then myself and with my 0 confidence, I am VERY glad it's not up to me now.

There should be a translator available and I hope we can also get some sort of recording for us - but since I have heard about it only like 24 hours before it actually happens, there is not enough time to make sure about everything works or get some back up... so hopefully everything goes as planned and we'll get some responses from him if he will be in good mood and not too exhausted after whatever he is doing here (which could be either preparations and rehearsal for his upcoming concert or recording something - which is unlikely since he just recorded something else in Rome).
