Great to see BT returning to film music, been awhile since we last heard a score by him. Loved his scores for Monster and Under Suspicion. Looking forward to this one.

Great news! He is also scoring Solace, starring Colin Farrell and Anthony Hopkins, and he has been working on the Betrayal TV series. Other than that, he hasn't scored a film since 2007. I almost thought he had left it behind. He has released several good albums in those years though, like These Hopeful Machines in 2010.

Monster and Under Suspicion are indeed good scores, it's a shame that U.S. is still unreleased though. Stealth was pretty good too.

Is Catch & Release worth getting?

Just recorded in December the "best of" BT for Symphony Orchestra with my City of Prague Philharmonic ... great music and BT was a delight and very charming to work with....

Yeah, These Hopeful Machines was indeed great, also loved This Binary Universe.

Catch & Release is a nice, sweet score. It has some very lovely moments.

I donated for that on Kickstarter. Really looking forward to that release. He posted one or two clips on Facebook, sounded great.

BT to score new film? He'll phone it in no doubt. Forget film music, I just wish he'd lower his bleedin' prices. My last quarterly nearly made me choke on my weetabix.

Incredibly unfunny.

You're telling me! He even charges for caller ID.

Forget BT. But AT&T.... now there's a great telecommunications company... and occasional film composer. Cheap!

Well, not entirely since 2007. He did do two shorts, and he was replaced on two films (in 2012 and 2013).

And I thought I glanced over in passing he was working on some kind of non-score project.

I know he dropped out of a Step Up movie (can't remember which part though), what was the other?

"Reach Me", which was ultimately scored by Tree Adams.

Well, I didn't really count the two shorts, totalling 14 minutes running time. :-D

He has indeed been working on non-score material, his last three are these:

If the Stars Are Eternal So Are You and I (2012)
Morceau Subrosa (2012)
A Song Across Wires (2013)

I missed those three, are they any good?

I recognized a snippet from Monster there...

So will this be merged with electronics? Because so far I think it sounds like standard symphonic music I have heard many times before...

Yeah, the album will feature electronics as well. He actually performed it live with an orchestra recently.

Pretty cool. But the guy who claims 'symphonic-electronic' is a new genre has clearly not heard the name Hans Zimmer, LOL!

Yes, I was thinking the same, although what he meant was probably the mixture of symphonic music with more dance music based stuff, which is not what Zimmer has been doing.
