The score was just recorded in Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra and the movie opens next week during Berlin Film Festival. Here is the brief video from the sessions:

Ah, thank you, I needed that!

Any anxiety I might have about the state of film music gets calmed when at least one composer of his high abilities has attained the attention of major artists like Wim Wenders, Roman Polanski, Wes Anderson, David Fincher, Terence Malick, Philippe de Broca, etc. as well as big budget Hollywood fare (HARRY POTTER, GODZILLA, TWILIGHT, ZULU) as well as actors turned directors (George Clooney, Daniel Auteil, Ben Affleck, Angelina Jolie) as well as an array of international projects from Italy (REALITY), France (RENOIR), Spain (ATILANO, PRESIDENTE), Iceland (STORMY WEATHER), British (GIRL WITH THE PEARL EARRING) and Tai-wan (LUST CAUTION), excursions into animation (LE CHATEAU DES SINGES, FANTASTIC MR. FOX, RISE OF THE GURDIANS), documentaries (HOME SWEET HOME, PAROLES D'ETOILES, SEGO ET SARKO SONT DANS UN BATEAU...) and an unusually fine list of award winning films (THE KING'S SPEECH, THE QUEEN, THE IMITATION GAME, ARGO).

Alas whenever I get dumped on occasionally for my musical taste I noticed all my composer kings have this in common. Elmer Bernstein, Jerry Goldsmith, John Williams and Ennio Morricone would not only dominate their own "domain" when they had their heydays but have continued to get attention from every strata of the art. Everybody who puts an image to film and beyond have recognized how incredibly beneficial these artists could be to their vision. And, most importantly, they have gotten the same attention from their fellow composers who simply bow to their expansive abilities as being the most capable of the herd.

So when I get the blank looks from fellow fans or knocks I simply think "You have not heard what I have heard" and many times I personally no longer consider them REAL fans.

James, when you post your reviews, please don't say: "if anyone's interested." You should say instead, "For those who are interested." I just think phrasing it that way has a more positive effect and people should read your reviews as you are an excellent writer. (Far better than I am as you can tell from this post.)

[startquote

Why does every indie movie use A.) This poster font, B.) This style of poster imaging, and C.) Have a terrible title like this or "Let me In/Let the Right one In/How We Live Now/We Are What We Are/What We Do in the Shadows" et al.?

Surely people have taken note of the horrid cliche and anonymity of this kind of branding for their films?

Haha - thanks - my default assumption is that nobody will be interested!

Still no sign of a CD release at Amazon. I'll pick this one up from Wenders Music. CD release is 15th October.

Has anyone received this CD yet??

I ordered mine from that website, but as of today I still have no shipping confirmation. Nor they reply to my emails.

I bought it on 10/15, and also have not received a shipping email. I was worried about buying it through a small little online shop I had never heard of. I'm hoping my worries were unfounded, but I wish one of the Amazons had carried it.

I very nearly ordered it, then didn't, Emailed Amazon and received a response saying my inquiry will be passed on to their inventory department. No guarantee, but they'd see about sourcing it in the future. As I've never bothered to ask before, maybe this is a common response.

Best to those who ordered from the Wenders site, and please report back. I'm still itching to just go ahead and place the order, but I'll wait and continue to listen to the engrossing SUFFRAGETTE.
