INTRADA Announces: TINKER BELL AND THE GREAT FAIRY RESCUE Composed and Conducted by JOEL McNEELY DISNEY/INTRADA D002136702 I feel that Joel has made a special gift to me with Great Fairy Rescue's score, because the film and its story is so personal to me... -- Bradley Raymond Director Hot on the heels of the previous release of Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure, Intrada and Walt Disney Records present the album for the third film in the series, Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue. Series composer Joel McNeely is again on the job, delivering another magical, exciting, and soaring score that perfectly complements the first two scores and propels Tinker Bell's third adventure forward. McNeely set the standard for this series, writing for large orchestra comprised of LAs finest musicans to give these direct-to-video adventures an epic, theatrical feel. The album also features the vocals Summer's Just Begun, How to Believe, Come Flying with Me, and How to Believe. In this third part, Tinker Bell (Mae Whitman) attends fairy camp in the meadows of England and discovers a fairy house made by a human child, Lizzie, where she gets trapped despite warnings from her friend Vidia. While the fairies plot their rescue, Tinker Bell befriends Lizzie and they form a special bond. Ah, but with Roger continually referring to the series being seven films, will the fourth be Secret of the Wings or Pixie Hollow Games? Yavar

Wow, considering how bad sales the score for the first film were leading Roger to say that he doubted more in the series would come, now we have two more released in as many weeks. Either Intrada had already agreed to do these before the first score came out and couldn't back out, or sales picked up. Either way, terrific releases and terrific music. Really like the first score, the second is on order and now this one will soon be ordered. Hopefully sales have, or will, improve, and hopefully people will listen to the samples and not pass simply because of the title or the cover. Paraphrasing wasn't it said, "Sales would have to improve greatly before we ever release another one"? Either this was mandated by Disney as part of their contract, Intrada found other ways of moving stock for this title, or they just love these scores so much their willing to take a loss. No matter what the reason I can't thank Intrada enough for moving forward with this series.

Hey, having a beloved high profile score come out certainly can't hurt (even if the movie was hated by most, the score was similarly beloved). But I think it's also possible that good word of mouth has just gradually spread based on the first Tinker Bell release. Or through Disney distributing somewhere (a theme park?) Intrada found an additional market for these. Yavar
