I re-watched Resurrection last night, and thought Weaver's performance was wonderful. Her acting was very convincing in depicting a somewhat innocent viewpoint on the value of life (sometimes caring for the alien life more than humans), and yet you could see the emotions in her face as she faced the realities of who she was, as well as during her enlightenment as she learnt who she wasn't.
Along with Winona Ryder's performance, I found it quite amusing that it was the two "non-human" characters who showed the greatest emotions for the viewer to sympathise with the most.

Yeah, and that's quite common in AI/android films of this kind. By infusing the synthetics with more humanity than the actual humans in the film, you're left wondering about the moral implications of the science involved in creating them.
That's OK. To me, PROMETHEUS 2 is the only 'legitimate' addition to the existing timeline. ALIEN 5 is just a fun side-ways experiment that only has value to me insofar as it revisits familiar characters and places. Speaking of which, Michael Biehn confirmed a few weeks ago that ALIEN 5 would indeed ignore 3 and 4. Not that it was a big revelation or anything; it was pretty much given once the outline of the film was given.
I disagree. I personally can't get enough of this universe, and wish it went on forever. My only qualm is 'timeline inconsistencies' which is happening now with ALIEN 5 (and to a certain extent the AvP spin-offs).

speaking of non-humans, apparently Doodles was Sigourney's uncle.
