I have the following questions about these Westerns:
1. Has the Blu-ray THE MAN WHO SHOT LIBERTY VALANCE been officially available in the US? (Amazon still doesn't sell it except through its merchants. So are the other merchants such as Barnes & Noble, etc.selling imports from the UK, etc.?)
2. Is the June 2. 2015 rerelease of the Blu-ray RIO BRAVO a remastered version or just the old Blu-ray that was withdrawn from release about 1-2 years ago?

No.
The U.K. edition is region free. I bought my copy from amazonU.K. and it arrived in Arizona within 11 days. Plays fine, looks great, superior to the DVD. It can also be had cheaper on ebay.

Exactly the same transfer. Still razor-sharp with the same creative color and density issues. Ned Price went awol on this one. At least he didn't "yellow" it and then try to disguise the fact by colorizing titles and other key factors like he did THE SEARCHERS.
It is unlike Paramount to make a blu-ray region-free. Since there's been no USA release of this popular title, one could extrapolate that the U.K. region-free disc is intended for the USA as well as all markets, that is, if one were prone to extrapolations:
Thanks. It constantly ticks me off to see US-made Blu-ray movies being released in Europe and Japan long before they're released in the US. LIBERTY VALANCE, or any Western movie, is about as American as possible, but it's not officially released in the US....geeez.

I don't find it much of a problem. However saying that, I see the Japanese remake of Unforgiven, Yurusarezaru mono, has yet to get a US release on Blu-ray, so I will be importing it from the UK.
