So they just had a tribute on the Oscars for all the different deceased people who contributed to the making of movies. This list included not just actors, but directors, sound editors, costume designers, producers, etc... but NOT ONE FILM COMPOSER WAS EVEN MENTIONED! Not even Jerry Goldsmith. NOT ONE! And all the while theyre playing really syruppy sentimental MUSIC to their tribute. Bone heads.

Last year they didn't even have William Ross conducting the music live in the auditorium. He was at another location doing it closed circuit. What a bunch of crap.

I'm not even watching, cause I had my TV Disconnected since I really don't watch anything anymore for the last couple of years.

Just keeping up on imdb when an award is won . My sister didn't even invite me over.

I think the Oscars are turning into a real joke. You know, like the Golden Globes. It's all bullshit if you don't win.

What are you even talking about? It wasn't a montage of everyone who has ever died.

I get that. But you would think that music is such a huge part of any great film that you would at least mention ONE film composer that contributed that to motion pictures. How about Korngold, or Rosza. Just one for petes sake.

The Only Oscar I Care About Is A Mayer's.

That montage is just people who died in the past year. They are doing the orchestra off-site again, but whatever.

I didn't see it, but yeah, just one would be nice to include.

They were people who had died during the past year. None of those composers did.

Edit: I see that Shaun Rutherford beat me to it.

Yeah, pity that none of Band's scores ever got recognized.

Okay, I'll just shut up now.

How's Doogie Howser doing? He's a great host!

Did Gustavo win yet?

It's the same every year. Just sayin'.

Don't worry. I've pulled my share of boners on the boards. In fact, I think that phrasing was another one...

It is crazy that they haven't done the Original Score category and we're three hours in.

Well...they didn't mention Edgar Froese of Tangerine Dream.

It wasn't the usual Oscar thing of "they died outside the timeline" thing, as there were passings mentioned that were after Froese.

Granted, TD isn't a household name, but they've been very influential in film scoring over the years, and have contributed some very notable scores.

So, OK, I'm pissed off big grin

And Interstellar didn't get the best score award, so, doubly pissed razz

Well, I'm glad Monsieur Desplat won for a delightful score for a wonderful movie, (and I didn't think Mr. Zimmer's score was one of his best), so that'll redress the balance.

With all due respect.

They forgot Joan Rivers. Major oversight.
