Did you really like or love them, or were they just "Eh, whatever" movies for you. Overrated? Underrated? Thanks for any advice.

Joan, both these movies were "Eh", though Birdman does have some virtuoso acting.

Inherent Vice was the best movie of the year.

Inherent Vice was the best movie of the year.

Looking forward to seeing it (it's not out in Norway yet). My colleagues who saw it in Berlin, however, disliked it and found it to be Anderson's worst film by far.

Inherent Vice was both frustrating and enjoyable at the same time. I think was it was enjoyable due to the performances and, as my girlfriend pointed out, it's a bit like following "The Dude" through his misadventures in THE BIG LEBOWSKI. That being said, nothing feels satisfying terms of the plot. About four times during the movie I thought I had it figured, then it would change gears or some completely new character would be introduced, who seemed relevant, then forgotten. It's overly long and I'd just given up by the end of even trying to make sense of the movie's mystery. Even the movie itself doesn't seem to care whether or not the mystery is resolved.

Screw Hollywood! (that's Norway, btw, not Denmark).

"They're not Swedish, Mac. They're Norwegian."
