I actually just watched this TV movie. Really shallow stuff, I have to say.

I guess there were about 15 minutes of score in the film. Good work by TD, some of it reminded me of Heartbreakers, while other scenes had hints of Near Dark, and even those funky 21st Century Common Man tracks from Tyger. All of it very melodic. A pity there is no soundtrack, but I guess a soundtrack had to me mixed with those corny Billy Vera songs to get enogh material on it.

I interviewed Bobby Roth a few years ago, and he said that Franke was the only TD-member being present when Roth went to Berlin to hear the score. Edgar was in Vienna working on another project.

Any comments on this? I guess it's one of the most obscure films TD ever worked on.

I have one but, with apologies, not about the movie itself.
It might have occurred to you that Billy Vera fans could take exception to your description of his music. He is a well-established, respected performer of soul and blues music of long standing.
You are perfectly entitled to your opinion, of course, but I would have expected a fan of a group as musically varied and eclectic as TD to be somewhat less dismissive of other genres or performers.

Or it could be a generational thing. big grin

Well, had I called him "a talentless hack who deserve to die" I would have understood that I had crossed the line, but I didn't. I actually just called his songs corny. Because I think they are.

If you had seen the movie, you would see that he is featured in at least half the film, standing on stage in a bar, singing his songs. He just weared out his welcome very fast.

And would you believe it, the year after, his song "Dead Solid Perfect" was featured on the opening credits of the TD-scored film of the same name. I guess director Bobby Roth liked his stuff.
