To take a bit of the edge out of today's news - and because there seems to be a pretty big fandom for Moonraker on this board, I wanted to point out that Sir Roger Moore is having a private signing next month care of BondStars. Benefits, as usual, will go in part to UNICEF.

Thanks for flagging g this up LeHah.

I'm not into autographs per se - to me it's always about meeting someone rather than getting them to scrawl something down for me - but I made a rare exception for Roger Moore a few years ago when I stood for hours, in the rain, in London's Piccadilly so I get get Sir Rog's autograph on his autobiography My Word Is My Bond.

Roger Moore's Bond has always been my favorite - The Man With The Golden Gun was the first 007 film I saw and ai still love it now. I also have very fond memories of seeing The Spy Who Loved Me the first day it opened (at the Odeon St Albans) and loving it so much I changed seats and sat through the whole thing again a second time.

I'll be ordering a few of theses ignore pics.

Like Mike, I'm not into getting signatures of famous so-and-so's (I bore people with a story of queuing with my son to get Terry Pratchett's signature some years ago) but I admit to having several, including that of Mr. Moore, ... gracing various walls in the house.

I bought several lithographs - then available from the old JBIFC - which I've had framed. My love of all things JB007 has faded (primarily as a result of the dire Skyfall) but I still enjoy Bond (particularly pre-Brosnan) and so have no intention of removing these prints. Certainly my least favourite of the earlier JB007 films (before Die Another Day took that mantle, now owned by the last film), Mr. Moore's signature is on The Spy Who Loved Me ... though the lithograph does hang in a spare bedroom. smile

I recall having to pay extra for this one on the basis that part of the fee was going to charity.

Mitch
