Ground-breaking score in my opinion. Visually as remarkable as Barry Lyndon for it's natural and low-light photography. And what a production! Sensational script and acting. My one caveat is the miscasting of Damian Lewis as Henry - for me, Lewis's 'whisper-speech' doesn't quite ring true to the brooding, tyrannical nature of the character.

Thoroughly enjoyed this series.

The score, and all the other production values : art direction, costumes, photography etc were brilliant.

Mark Rylance was superb as Thomas Cromwell and I quite enjoyed Damian Lewis’s Henry too.

What I didn’t realise was that the books had been split into TWO Series !

Ten minutes before the end and, as Anne Boleyn lost her head, I was thinking -

“What the ... We’ve only got 10 mts left to get through Jane Seymour and Anne of Cleves ?”

I needn’t have worried. They’ll be back !

For U.S. viewers, this series is being shown on PBS starting Sunday April 5th.

Interesting to see Ms. Wiseman conducting in the video posted above, but it looks like not one of the musicians looks her way for even a split second during the entire piece.
