MONDAY, MARCH 16 THE WALKING DEAD---Robert Kirkman commented on the new untitled spinoff series, “It’s not going to relate to the comics at all. From the beginning of the show one thing we’ve heard is, ‘What’s going on over here or there.’ So the intent of the new show is to expand that world and show another corner of the United States and what’s happening there. The timeline is taking place a little bit earlier than the original show. Rick Grimes woke up from a coma and was like, ‘Oh, man, zombies, weird!’ We’re going to possibly see that unfold a little more in the other show. But I wouldn’t call it ‘prequel’ because the entirety of the show is not going take place before [THE WALKING DEAD]. It will eventually form a path running concurrently.” JURASSIC WORLD---photo released of Chris Pratt's team of trained Velociraptors. The sequel premieres on June 12. FURY ROAD---photo released from the Mad Max sequel that stars Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron. THE CROW---it was confirmed that Jack Huston (BOARDWALK EMPIRE) and Jessica Brown Findlay (DOWNTON ABBEY) will star in the reboot movie that will be more faithful to the graphic novel than the original movie. Findlay will play Shelly, The Crow's murdered girlfriend, in flashbacks. SUICIDE SQUAD---a rumor claims Dr. Hugo Strange will be a villain in the movie and have scenes with The Joker and Harley Quinn. MIKE TYSON---Jamie Foxx said Martin Scorsese will direct him in the Paramount Pictures biomovie, "This will be the first boxing movie that Martin Scorsese has done since RAGING BULL.” The script is by Terrence Winter (THE WOLF OF WALL STREET). AMERICAN HORROR STORY: HOTEL---Jessica Lange confirmed she's not returning to the series, "I'm done...We've had a great run here. I have absolutely loved doing these four characters that I've had the opportunity to play, and in all madness, I love the writers and Ryan and the insanity of shooting it." Matt Bomer, Lady Gaga and Cheyenne Jackson will co-star in HOTEL. THE DEEP BLUE GOOD-BY---Peter Dinklage (GAME OF THRONES) and Nicola Peltz (TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION) will co-star with Christian Bale and Rosamund Pike in the Travis McGee movie. THE DEVIL YOU KNOW---Karen Gillan (DOCTOR WHO) will co-star in the HBO pilot about the Salem Witch Trials. Julian Rhind-Tutt, Ewen Bremner and Eddie Izzard also star. FLASH GORDON---Sam J. Jones, who starred in the 1980 movie, said the new 20th Century Fox reboot movie will be a sequel to his movie and he might co-star in the sequel. PRYOR---Eddie Murphy is in talks to play Richard Pryor's father in the biomovie that also stars Kate Hudson as Pryor's widow. Mike Epps stars as Pryor. HART OF DIXIE---showrunner Leila Gerstein confirmed the series has been cancelled by The CW. FRIDAY THE 13TH---The CW is developing a tv series based on the horror movie franchise. RUSH HOUR---Justin Hires (21 JUMP STREET) will co-star with Jon Foo in the CBS series based on the movie. DRAGON BALL Z: RESURRECTION---an English-dubbed movie will premiere in US theaters this summer. MALLRATS---Kevin Smith confirmed he is developing a sequel to his cult classic movie.

I think we'll find even though the raptors are trained, when put into real-world use and have their chance, they'll turn on their trainers and captors. They're clever bastards, you know.

The point of it is, to generate publicity. Which it does since people are talking about it.

Hmmm - I instinctively object to the notion of "training" a group of Raptors... Seems they are presenting Jurassic World as a circus. ( or Seaworld I guess) Dino's trained to play tricks for an audience? Pretty ridiculous concept. Oh well. It doesn't seem that ridiculous to me. The whole point of the Jurassic series is the danger of humanity trying to play god. Once humanity feels they have mastered the dinosaurs, the next logical extension is to have them perform. Whether the execution of this concept is any good is another matter, but I like the potential. As Malcolm said in the first film: "Yeah, yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could that they didn't stop to think if they should." This aspect is part of what makes the series so interesting to me.

Very sad to read Jessica lange isn't returning to American Horror Story as she stole every scene she was in and was BEYOND CRAZY good. Bummer.
