TUESDAY, MARCH 24

THE X-FILES---Fox confirmed it has ordered a six-part miniseries based on its sci fi tv series with David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson returning. Production begins this summer.

GAME OF THRONES---co-creator David Benioff said the tv series will contain spoilers for George RR Martin's two remaining books, "Luckily, we've been talking about this with George for a long time, ever since we saw this could happen, and we know where things are heading. And so we'll eventually, basically, meet up at pretty much the same place where George is going; there might be a few deviations along the route, but we're heading towards the same destination. I kind of wish that there were some things we didn't have to spoil, but we're kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place. The show must go on... and that's what we're going to do."
He added the books will contain differences from the series, "I think the thing that's kind of fun for George is the idea that he can still have surprises for people even once they've watched the show through to the conclusion. There are certain things that are going to happen in the books that are different in the show, and I think people who love the show and want more- want to know more about the characters, want to know more about the different characters who might not have made the cut for the show - will be able to turn to the books."

NARCO SUB---Liam Neeson is in negotiations to star in this 20th Century Fox movie in which a disgraced former Navy officer is forced by an Ecuadorian drug lord to sail a cocaine-filled submarine past the Coast Guard and into the US. The script is by David Guggenheim (SAFE HOUSE). Ridley Scott is a co-producer.

X-MEN: APOCALYPSE---Jennifer Lawrence said the sequel will be her last X-Men movie, "It is my last one, actually."

INDEPENDENCE DAY 2---Vivica A. Fox confirmed she's returning for the sequel, "It's official that I'll b back 4 #IndependenceDay2 sequel playing #Jasmine #LegitimateCareer #NextLevel #Blessedwink".

AMERICAN CRIME STORY: THE PEOPLE v. OJ SIMPSON---Connie Britton (FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS, NASHVILLE, ) will play Faye Resnick, a friend of Nicole Brown Simpson, in the FX anthology series. Cuba Gooding, Jr. will play OJ Simpson, John Travolta will play defense attorney Robert Shapiro, David Schwimmer will play defense attorney Robert Kardashian and Sarah Paulson will play prosecutor Marcia Clark.
