There's a TV season I was interested in watching. Turns out, it was cheaper (by more than $10) to have a Blu-ray edition shipped from Germany than to purchase the season on iTunes. How does that even begin to make sense?
Similarly, I often find that CDs are cheaper, even factoring in shipping, even new not used, than a digital download of the same music.
What things have you found that are cheaper in a higher-quality edition?
Theory goes CD's cost less than Digital Downloads because this is a marketing tactic to move the remaining ppl completely off physical media. (Digital costs less and I can have it now)
I was going to rent Big Hero 6 from my cable provider but I was shocked to see the price is now $6 dollars!!! The "to own" digital copies from iTunes and Amazon are both $20 dollars. So are the BluRays.
But how would that move people off physical media when it costs less to stick with physical media? I would stop buying CDs in a heartbeat if they would release albums I want in lossless downloads. Sadly nobody seems to want to sell it to me that way.

It doesn't. Rereading my post I don't know what I was thinking when I wrote that. Well here's another theory, CD's are cheaper because they want to move remaining physical stock out the door?
