Tommy Pearson's interviewing James Horner in the Elgar Room at the Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday 29 April, 7.30pm.

This is part of the fab BAFTA Conversations with Screen Composers, in association with PRS For Music and The Academy Circle. More info at http://www.royalalberthall.com/tickets/BAFTA/James-Horner/default.aspx

It doesn't say on the RAH's page that Tommy's doing the interviewing but I checked his Twitter page and sure enough, he'd retweeted this https://twitter.com/allstarfilm/status/580672290280591360

Also, while I have your attention... wink

Reminder: David Arnold's concert-ing at the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester on Tue 14 April

and the lovely folk at Movies in Concert have officially adopted my @moviesinconcert Twitter feed and now link to it from their website: https://twitter.com/moviesinconcert

Not particularly convenient for those travelling to London for the concert. 7:30pm Wednesday would mean another night staying over. Not well planned unfortunately.

No matter how well these things are planned there are always going to be people inconvenienced by them. That's the way it goes.

It was a good conversation tonight, though I don't recall any major league penetrating questions.

Waited till right to the end of the autographs queue when I think everyone was by then a bit tired, and despite trying to remain calm I still felt I came across like a Richard Head (like I always feel I do when I come face to face with anyone famous).

My back's going to be giving me hell tomorrow though. I'll be out of action for a couple of days at least.

(Edit: Not that I think he would be reading, but I have to apologise to and thank Tommy Pearson for putting up with my inane chatter while I was waiting for the autograph queue to shorten after the conversation - he has the patience of a saint)

A great evening! I did get to ask JH about Amazing Spiderman 2 and got a selfie with him!

Agreed! I've never actually been a huge Horner fan, but I thought this was the best conversation in the series so far. Very interesting to hear him describe his process and his experiences with various films and directors. I was pleased you asked the Spiderman question and I was surprised by the candour of his response.

Typical. Three times I've seen Horner (from a distance) over the last few weeks/months and the one event I can't make there's an autograph session! Oh well...

It was a wonderful evening. I finally got to meet my musical hero and nearly managed not to sound like a sad gushing git!

Sorry I didn't say hello to you Brendon - wasn't sure if you were you as it were!

Likewise Adam!

Great photo! I managed to get a selfie and I met a great guy called Connor and we both managed to get photos for each other.

A great evening...still on a high!

Care to elaborate on what Horner's response was? smile

In a nutshell.....he wasn't asked. He did discuss the change in the story arc moving from the relationship/love story to more action orientated which is the direction the studio wanted to go in.

At some point in the next few days, there should be an online audio presentation of the conversation on the bafta guru website (which I believe is http://guru.bafta.org/features/conversations, because what was printed on the A4 handout doesn't seem to work (www.baftaguru.org)).
