Sometimes I wonder if I'm a film score fan at all. A package arrived the other day, and when I opened it, I saw that it was a present from my brother - NORTH BY NORTHWEST (Sony Classical, 1995, reduced from 5 pounds 99 to 1.99. And I realised that hmm, it's true, I didn't have that classic score on CD in any version, only the Laurie Johnson-conducted LP and a few re-recorded tracks by Herrmann himself on a compilation. And I also realised that it's my first CD of 2015, and I didn't even buy it myself.
In other words - so far this year, I have acquired -
NORTH BY NORTHWEST (Bernard Herrmann, 1995 Sony Classical, 1 pound 99 sticker, received as present).
