On the Berlin Philharmonic's Digital Concert Hall site, there is a video from last fall that shows Sir Simon Rattle educating young Berliners (and a few members of the Berlin Philharmonic sprinkled in there too) about how to play a few pieces of American film music. It's essentially a rehearsal that features music from The Magnificent Seven, Raiders March, and some of the ET flying music. It's free, but you do have to create an account and log in to view the video: https://www.digitalconcerthall.com/en/concert/21073 Music starts around five minutes in. I'd say stop watching after he leaves the stage since the rest of the program is more heavily edited and the playing a bit more, umm... raw.

Very interesting... thanks for posting. Had never connected Sir Simon Rattle with any form of film music before, but he gets right into it here; some attention to detail! I must say, what a large audience for a mere (?) student orchestra rehearsal. Anyway, good stuff!

Ed, I meant that I didn't connect the man with film music in a concert-hall setting; I'm talking about historic scores or suites from films conducted at a later date for audience pleasure. In this instance, his enthusiasm won me over. In TM7, he calls for "a bit more Schweinsteiger" and then the Raiders March has to begin like "a bonsai firework". Recommended viewing.
