I had a pal - totally unaware of the composer - but his two staffys were called Bernard and Herman! When my mate and his wife wasnt about i used to hum Herrmann themes to them, just to see if they reacted! One of them very definitely howled to my version of Day the Earth Stood Still ! Freaky.
