I don't think there are any spoilers in it.

It looks more like one of those dull and gloomy Batman films than a Superman one. Why does everything have to be so dark these days, to the point you can barely see anything? I don't know much about 'Superhero' stuff, but why is Batman fighting Superman anyway? And he really does look like Lego Batman in that short clipsmile

I'm not a fan of the DC films at all but is it me or are they struggling with the world building Marvel is excelling at?

(It also doesn't help they're using Zach Snyder over and over - is there a less talented director in Hollywood? - and its creating this very monotone form for their series.)

Bingo! The whole thing is almost in Silhouette. Same issue I have with Netflix's Dare Devil. I have no interested in watching a shadow puppet movie.

So much percussion. When will this trend die? It just sounds like an army of drums playing simultaneously without any melody.

Dull no. Gloomy yes. But possibly smart. I hope the main conflict is indeed a conundrum of morality and philosophy - that`d be nice territory to explore.

I don`t think Batman - the Dark Knight - could be portrayed in anything but a campy light in non-gloomy environs. I think that whatever else it may be, the producers made the right choice there.

I`m interested.

The more shitty movies use this type of sound, the quicker it'll die out. And by the looks of it that will happen sooner than later. big grin

It looks terrible to me.

DC's cinematic universe holds no appeal for me, though I'll go see the standalone Wonder Woman movie to help support woman-led superhero movies. But the only DC comics-related movie I'm actually truly looking forward to is the LEGO Batman one.

It's pretty unfair to judge this trailer when you're watching an illegal copy that someone filmed with a personal camera off a movie screen. Of course it's going to look bad.

I see your point, but they also released the HD version. I can see what's going on this time and it's still ugly.

The texture on Batman's suit makes it look like it's made out of cardboard.

Well, for starters, as I pretty much cannot stand Jack Snyders previous efforts other than Dawn of the Dead, and for the fact that Man of Steel had that hand held, basically gray look about it, this looks...pretty good to me, just from this trailer of course.

From listening to the voiceovers, it sounds equal parts psychological and physical struggle. At least it SOUNDS that way. I also like the photography, with a more rich color rather than gray, albeit dark. And that's fine by me too as long I can see what is actually going on.

And what I also like is the fact that this film is not being rushed out to theatres. If they took time on the script before shooting and then the editing, that goes a long way for making a much better film.

So I surprised myself by actually saying that I am at least curious in seeing this.

Thanks for sharing Mastage....looks like what you'd expect. ..if you enjoy this style it'll be good, if not, more to complain about. Funny we've already forgotten 'Neodammerung' style rain-fighting, I got Matrix deja- vu at the end....

I'm hopeful that the writers & director learned from the mistakes of the previous film and made a better one.

So, how does it end? It seems the way was paved to trash Batman when Nolan sacrificed him as expendable. With the public leering at Batman as tarnished goods it makes it easier to see the formerly respected character in a sort of half-light. I guess what we're seeing is the same material going through an endless corridor of convolution and permutation.

It's really the half-witted public that's on permanent display.

How does that work then? An alien with superpowers v a bloke in a rubber suit. Not that I'm bothered, I won't be watching it, even when it's free on the telly.

My guess Bats suit is laced with Kryptonite which will make Superman weaker and more human like in strength.

Superman's costume looks like "oil-slick" dirty Superman in SUPERMAN 3....filthy and dark colors. :/

I'm sure everyone here has read or has at least heard of Frank Miller's legendary The Dark Knight Returns, which is what this film looks closest to being based on, so naturally this *has to be* be exceedingly grim and intense, but then all the Batman films have been. Strange that that they went this way well before this instead of eventually reaching this point with any build up. It still looks better than I thought it would be; quite a difference from the glib, wisecracking Avengers films of the Marvel Universe (as they should be), that's for sure.
