It's so great that Pascale Cuenot has been able to make more documentaries in this series. I really appreciated the previous three and was hoping there might be more.

It's wonderful he was able to do one on Lalo Schifrin. Mr. Schifrin is 83 years old and we don't much how much longer he'll be around so it's great to have a documentary devoted to him.

Hopefully M. Cuenot will be able to continue with the series. I would love it if he could include Michel Legrand and Francis Lai in his next series. If I could fund these films myself, I would.

Looking at the YouTube clips I see a link to a film devoted to Alexandre Desplat. How exciting!

Regarding this new DVD documentary on Lalo Schifrin, can anybody confirm if, within any of the interviews or other content, there's any reference to Charles Koechlin?

I don't recall any reference material (either on Charles Koechlin or Lalo Schifrin) citing that composer Koechlin tutored Schifrin.
Yet I read about this somewhere.

Knowing that Koechlin passed away at the end of 1950, Schifrin must have gotten lessons from him during or after WWII in the 1940s (because Lalo was born in 1932).

(Interestingly, Schifrin's current age is the same age at which Koechlin died...)
