I’m really happy that everyone who missed it has a chance to buy it. I would love for Intrada to take this opportunity to maybe remove some of those Crossfades.
Thats nice.I missed out on this one and unfortunately also on THE SHADOW EXPLORERS POWDER THE RIVER WILD... so theres always hope
I just got The Shadow, finally, but yes, very expensive
That expansion of The Shadow is fantastic...I was kinda meh about it based on the original soundtrack release, but now think it's a helluva great score!
I thought it was that one, but it wasn't! Sorry to de-rail this thread (Buy this soundtrack now before it's too late!), but it's a scene where Homer is watching TV. There's this shopping network that has something Homer wants and when the TV salesman says buy it now, Homer immediately goes to the phone, picks it up, and with multiple fingers begins to just press random numbers that clearly would not have worked. Before he even realizes that he's dialing nothing comprehensible, he stops himself from being too quickly tempted to buy the product.
I've always loved this film and score, and when I bought a new pair of headphones this week, this was chosen as the demo. My god. Someone in here mentioned this as the finest sounding release in years, and I have to agree - the sonics on the Intrada release are nothing short of sensational. Now it's back in print, everyone should own one of these.
Track 23, Disc 1 - 'Remington's Death' - 01:30 onwards is just spectacular.

I had to go out and listen to see specifically what section this was and you are right, the sonics are incredible. Those trumpets just make the heart sing!
Truly a phenomenal listen and a high water mark for recording quality from this era.
