Who the hell thought this was necessary? "Let's make a movie about how lame 'New Coke' was!" "Sounds great to me. Then we can do Crystal Pepsi!"

Jesus. There are spec scripts out there with far better content. I guarantee it.

I don't know which is scarier:

I would have said the same thing about a movie about the Facebook guy (The Social Network), or a movie about baseball sabermetrics (Moneyball), etc. Some of what is considered the best TV of the past 10 years has been built around what I would have called shaky premises. Just because the topic seems lame doesn't mean that something good can't come out of it.

Mad Max. It appears they may have finally stumbled into a follow-up to planet of the apes.

King Of Queens summed it all up in three words- "Syrupy Piss Water". That's all that needs to be said. wink

I haven't seen either of those films. I couldn't care less about either subject. I may be missing out, but it staggered me that anyone paid to see the Zuckerberg story. I'd rather see a movie detailing the history of Bang Bros. or We Live Together.

BLADE RUNNER is a "religion" for this director?

Really?

Inspires me to think he'll make a turgid film, or one so loaded with references it won't find its own way.

I thought Ridley Scott was going to direct this?

Also, what's Sam Worthington doing in a heist picture? Isn't he involved with all these AVATAR things?

Isn't Sir Ridley directing Prometheus II? I suppose it all boils down to what James Horner was saying about Jim Cameron's need to squeeze projects down to size in the recent London interview, overleaf. There are only so many hours in the day. A matter of priorities and delegation.

Sam Worthington is probably getting in some "legwork" between Avatars.

Scott stepped down from directing the project last year. I think he's still attached as a creative consultant or producer or something?
