New Complete Score Breakdowns posted (including links at the beginning of this thread) for James Horner's Field of Dreams, Flightplan, Mighty Joe Young, and Deep Impact. These four CSBs were completed and written prior to the composer's passing; they are the final planned Horner CSBs at this time and I thought this would be the time to go ahead and post them.

Hello all.

As I will soon be publishing my 50th Complete Score Breakdown, I'm about to take a break from doing them for awhile. I actually have five more that I'm going to post, bringing my total to 53, but then I'm going to step back for awhile because I need a break from doing them and things have gotten pretty busy in my life with work and school starting up again.

Also, and it's not a bad thing, but I suspect that they are not quite as "shiny" and novel as they once were and I'm not sure people enjoy them as much as they used to. Perhaps it's the films/scores that I select as subjects, maybe they are not as popular, or maybe folks don't have as much to say about them; either way it's fine, and I'm not as inspired by a list of films/scores that I'm compelled to do CSBs on at the moment anyway.

I do have a list off to the side of CSBs that I would like to work on once I start them up again, so once I have more free time on my hands I will work some more in and perhaps you will see one or two pop up here and there from time to time but for now, I must focus on working (a lot) and furthering my education.

These CSBs have been very fun and very interesting to work on and I'm very pleased that most everyone has seemed to enjoy them. I'm extremely humbled and flattered by all of the compliments and praise that I've received for them and thank everyone for their kind words throughout the series; your positive feedback, interaction, discussion, and involvement in making this series such a worthwhile endeavor has been invaluable and if it weren't for all of you I wouldn't have made it to 53 CSBs. Thank you all for letting me take up so much room with my CSB threads.

Stay tuned for the final 5. Two in the next day and then the final 3 sometime early next week, featuring mainstay CSB composers Danny Elfman, Jerry Goldsmith, Christopher Young, and James Newton Howard.

Cheers!

Stay tuned at the beginning of next week for the final three entries in the Complete Breakdown Series before I shut down the Series for awhile!

New Complete Score Breakdowns posted (including links at the beginning of this thread) for Danny Elfman's Darkman, James Newton Howard's The Bourne Legacy, and Christopher Young's Entrapment.

These are the final three Complete Score Breakdowns in the Series for now. I will continue the Series at some point in the future. My thanks to everyone who enjoyed, appreciated, tolerated, supported, and participated in all of the CSBs.

My biggest hope of course is that some (or many) of the CSBs located in this archive will one day soon grow into actual real-life CD expansions and Deluxe Editions!

Deputy, while I'm sad to see you won't be doing any more of these for a while (was really looking forward to some of those older Goldsmith ones that turned out to be on YouTube), you've definitely earned the rest because you've been doing a great job, and already since you began one official expanded release of a score you CSBed (Gremlins 2) has come out!

Looking forward to the day you come back swinging.

Hi Deputy,

I just thought I'd bump this to see how soon your great CSB series might be coming back. I for one really enjoyed them!

I know you're interested in doing some older Goldsmith scores, which are rarer to find on Netflix but I believe some were pointed out to be on YouTube. I don't think this one was mentioned, though, and it'd be a really cool one to do as it's completely unreleased:

What do you say?

Thanks Yavar! I appreciate that post. Unfortunately the busy time of my year is in full swing between work and school and a host of other engagements and I don't have much in the way of free time. One never knows, and if I can squeeze in any of these CSBs down the line I would certainly like to revisit them if any particular film or score strikes me as noteworthy but at the moment it's not an option...

The baton is lying on the ground if anyone else wants to grab it and consider it passed!
