Greetings all from the UK.

I've been a lecturer in film music studies for rather a long time and have built up a good collection of film music titles. My greatest claim to fame is that I arranged the Tom and Jerry at MGM suite that was played at the BBC Proms a couple of years ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYrUWfLlYI0

Anyway, now is the time to retire but I need to pass on my collection of Film Music books to the next generation (about 100 books in all) and I'm looking for someone who might like to buy them. There are many treasures in the collection and some absolute rarities.

I'm thinking about £1,500 or $2,000 for what is, as far as I know a rather rare assemblage. Claudia Gorbman's book "Unheard Melodies" alone is worth $100 (check Amazon).

Anyway, I can email a list and photograph of the collection to anybody interested.

Thank you for reading!

Peter,

What an absolute pleasure that was to watch!!! Thank you so much for posting that! That must of been some really difficult music to arrange. I had a huge smile from ear to ear watching/listening to that! Thank you!
And those sfx guys, how fun would that job be?!

While I don't have anywhere near the funds to have your collection, it must be an absolute treasure trove of goodies, and an amazing "encyclopedia" of film music!

Thank you for your kind words! It was a real blast to put together and an honour to work with Scott Bradley's scores. I've written about Bradley in various places (he's been a research interest of mine) and I was thrilled to get his name more widely known. Of course, everybody knows his music but, outside of a bunch of film music buffs, nobody has heard of him.

Sadly, T&J are no longer the standard Saturday morning viewing and they are not cool enough for many of today's kids. Fortunately, my students grew up on them so I've incorporated Bradley into my Undergraduate programme so at least some of them will go out carrying the flag on my behalf ;o)

Best wishes to you,

Pete

Thank you to those of you who have replied asking for a list. I now have it and can send it complete with photos, if required. There are, at the latest count, 133 books, unless I find a few more dotted around my bookshelves. . .

I have no idea how much they all weigh. 40kg/90lbs?. It's going to be a heavy delivery. . .

Please do email me for details.

Best wishes,
