Zardoz, Never the less, I would recommend this truly brilliant collection to any serious soundtrack collector. Great stuff !
(but then ....what do I know ?)
I recommend this, too!
My comment about the CD durations was that they are symbolic of how Antonioni's films were getting progressively pessimistic and reductive in content - thus, less and less music in them.
I'd go so far as to select L'ECLISSE as the finest film music from 1962 (and that's sayin' somethin' )
How about Il giorno della civetta, Il mare, and Milano Nera?
My advice: Rather try to get the rare LP of IL GIORNO DELLA CIVETTA instead of wating for a CD of the complete score which maybe will never appear at all. Although the music formerly appeared on a CAM LP in 1968, you have to consider that the actual music publisher was Nazionalmusic and not at all CAM. Therefore IL GIORNO DELLA CIVETTA is NOT part of the CAM catalogue anymore and Sugar/CAM doesn't have the tapes. The same goes of course for the other two scores which were on side A of that LP (I SETTE FRATELLI CERVI by Rustichelli and COL CUORE IN GOLA by Trovajoli). IL MARE should be RCA. Could be that they still have it in their catalogue, could be not. Above all, GDM is the manager of the RCA catalogue and nowadays they will certainly not release this score on CD anymore. So the only score which could indeed come is MILANO NERA which is still owned by Sugar/CAM.

My half-price copy arrived today. Looking forward to spinning this; coincidentally, we just watched La Notte.
What was the cost - $22?
I love La Notte as a film; I'm inclined to like it a little bit more than L'Avventura (although actress Jeanne Moreau didn't feel any connection to Antonioni's aesthetic on La Notte).
L'eclisse, though, tops them all - both the film and Fusco's musical underscore. L'eclisse is my favorite Antonioni picture and resides on my Top 20 films list. The soundtrack by Fusco may also be my favorite from 1962.

Yes, $22.50 plus media mail shipping, worked out to under $30.
I have seen two of these films, La Notte and L'eclisse. Love them both. I never picked up on Jeanne Moreau not getting Antonioni's aesthetic; I will have to watch again to see if I notice.
Haven't seen the other two films. Hulu has a large number of Criterion titles. Maybe they are available.
Anyone in for a surprise? Interestingly, Four Flies Records has found a large part of the original music tracks of Fusco´s score for Antonioni´s LE AMICHE from 1955 (by the way, not owned by Sugar/CAM!) and has made them available as download on all the digital platforms just a few days ago. Four Flies writes: "Did you think Giovanni Fusco’s LE AMICHE was forever lost? Well, you were wrong! ?? We’ve managed to rescue 5 tracks from this amazing soundtrack, and they’re now available on all digital platforms!" The 5 tracks with about 14 minutes can also be found on Youtube and should actually be added to the Fusco/Antonioni CD box by anyone interested:
