Dawn was a fantastic entry, a rare, very smart Summer flick. If anything, I think it could benefit the filmmakers moving forward to simply excise the humans and focus exclusively on what is going on with the apes and their culture. It could offer a fascinating perspective for the series to completely lose that human element since the reboot saga has largely been appreciated based upon the ape characters, and Caesar's establishment as their leader.

Couldn't agree more. Rise was a great movie wih a wonderful score but Dawn just really didn't reqch the same heights as a film and neither did the music.

Same here. Actually Rise film could have been the prologue of the third one, that would have made more sense.
I agree with those that don't think DAWN was all that great. The story was puddle deep, and the score was lacking in imagination. Can't say I'm that excited over the next one, unless they somehow manage a great script. Giacchino, I hope, takes a pass this time.

No comment about the movie (I just fell asleep while watching Dawn on my flight across the ocean) but the score is a lot better than Rise. So I expect some pretty interesting work for War
Dawn was as good if not better than Rise. Smartly executed, thrilling and had me pumped for the next installment and the score was as good as Doyles. One of the best movies last summer period.

You gotta be kidding. You're still going to need some human characters in it for marketing reasons and just general audiences relating to it. Even the '68 original had Heston. I still want to see humans in these movies in relation to the apes.

Not possible, but I understand the sentiment. What I enjoy is when I run across someone commenting that DAWN is a "masterpiece" and "better than even the '68 original."
