I love that score very much but have been asking myself if there is a need for a release of the complete score since I have to admit that it is a bit repetitiv. Oh well, I would buy an expanded release anyway
Great score, I love the avantgarde-sections of it with all those voices dubbed in, and also that major-mode theme. There is a suite of the score recorded by Williams, it is on the "Music of America" Sony 3 CD album, and I think originally on the Music for Stage and Screen album.
You know, I absolutely looooooove the main theme of this but for so many years it's bothered me that it reminds me of something else -- I just have NO idea what that something else could be. Anyone?

Do you refer to that melody in homecoming? Or that minor mode trumpet solo with the low cello/double-bass/timpani gestures in between? Curiously, I feel exactly the same for the Homecoming melody, don't know which music it strongly reminds me of.

There's a segment that reminds me of "Nessun dorma" from Puccini's opera TURANDOT.
