I thought I couldn't dislike anything more than Batman & Robin, until the Nostalgia Critic came to be. Still hope they get him on fraud after the scam he pulled with that Game show fund raiser. Ha! Now that was funny.

I think he's an incredibly smart, sensitive and retrospective critic, and shows real passion for his work. I also think he's hilarious. I never heard of any fraud or scams on his part.

The money raised:

After a year and a half, behold the fruit of those dollars at work. OIr wait, do I mean the complete lack of any production. Behold the set, the incredible lighting, and the camera shotgun microphone used by the host. Watch as Brad Jones nearly falls asleep reading questions. Listen to question actually taken from a board game.

They're trying really hard to keep this one quiet as many are asking for their money back, or an investigation.

Wow that sucks! Never trust a funny guy I guess. Excuse me while I start one of these damn crowdfunding projects so I can literately get other people to pay my bills while I sit back and enjoy listening to scores all day!

Yeah, I don't hold the other producers at fault for this. Even Brad was just brought in to be the host. But this is some pretty shady stuff. There is more to the story as well which you can find online pretty easy. Suspicious firings, the sudden change of webhosts and name (They no longer allow themselves to be called "That Guy With The Glasses". They now only allow "Channel Awesome"). So something stinks in Denmark and I guess it just shaded my opinion of the Walkers overall.

No excuses of course but two things comes to mind. First It shows it's a lot easier to be a critic than to actually produce something. (good) Second perhaps they had good intentions but when almost a hundred thousand falls in your lap in a months time it's easier to spend it on things other than what it was intended for. Following the YT clips someone claims he makes almost a million a year off of his website, though I have no idea if that is true. Anyway I enjoy his reviews but I would never give him money for anything.

Edit: Usually when you change company names etc, it's to protect your assets from civil action.

Yeah, to be fare there are many things one can fall into when trying to be different. I don't hold that against them. But there were just so many things happening around this time. About a year after they got the money, one of the key Channel Awesome people (a behind the scenes woman) got very ill and was hospitalized for a short period. The day she got out, they told her she was terminated. I mean, wow. She tries to be nice when discussing it, but she has stated she believes it was from her questioning about the funds for the game show.

So there you go. I'll stick with RLM. smile
