FRIDAY, MAY 29

STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS---Andy Serkis will play a character named Supreme Leader Snoke. No other information was disclosed.

JAWS---to celebrate it's 40th anniversary, the classic Steven Spielberg movie will be rereleased in 500 theaters on June 21 and 24.

URBAN COWBOY---Fox tv series remake underway based on the 1980 movie that starred John Travolta and Debra Winger.

UNBREAKABLE---M. Knight Shyamalan said his long-gestating movie sequel might become a tv miniseries instead, "Could you do a six-episode Unbreakable series on Netflix or HBO? Yeah! That's cool. I even had an idea of doing a story that goes in one form, and a second part that's in another form, and a third one's in a different form. You never do the same form. It would be like, movie, then, let's say, cable, to TV, whatever, and then a play; it goes straight online, and it finishes like that. It's in four different forms, and it never goes back to the old one. It could be kind of cool."
The original 2000 movie starred Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson.

IT---reportedly, the movie cancelled by New Line Cinema after director Cary Fukunaga left, has returned back to Warner Bros. which wants to film the project in two movies as planned by Fukunaga. However, Fukunaga won't be involved with the Warner Bros. movie.

FULLER HOUSE---Bob Saget and Lauri Loughlin were confirmed to be returning for the Netflix FULL HOUSE sequel series.

GOTHAM---Nicholas D'Agosto (Harvey Dent) announced he will be a full cast member in Season 2.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2---director James Gunn said Kang the Conqueror and Shi'ar won't appear in the sequel or any other Marvel Studios movie because they're owned by 20th Century fox.

TRANSFORMERS---Hasbro CEO Goldner said spinoff movies are being developed including one featuring Bumblebee.

STRATTON---Henry Cavill has left the movie based on the novel about a British Special Ops soldier battling terrorists due to creative differences.

HENCHMEN---animated movie underway about a fallen henchman who must save the world from the evil Baron Blackout. James Marsden, Nathan Fillion, Rosario Dawson and Alfred Molina provide the voices.

Is it me or do Star Wars character names get sillier and sillier with each new film?

They'll age okay with time. "Han Solo," "Luke Skywalker," "Beru," "Obi-Wan Kenobi," "Greedo," "Grand Moff Tarkin," "Darth Vader." All pretty cheesy, all from the original.

I don't know, but I think 'Snoke' sounds like something from out of HARRY POTTER.

Sounded to me more like "Snooki", the reality TV personality.

I like the idea that the soldier and terrorists are battling over creative differences.

The names in the original sound fine to me. Back then and now. The prequels and this new sequel sound ridiculous. When I first read it I thought it was "Snort".

I wish they did more of this around the country. I found out to late last summer they had a one day showing of Raiders Of The Lost Ark at my local theater.
