Since BTTF3 has been mentioned already, I seem to remember Chris Young's (terrific) score to Hard Rain being a bit out of order too.

The Usual Suspects

THIS, so much...the soundtrack album is UNLISTENABLE in the CD order. I had to burn a CDR in the proper order just not to be driven crazy.

An album I quite enjoyed at the time as I recall. Don't get me wrong, I truly appreciate the expanded editions, but these albums of old (seems like of old now) were generally pretty fun listens.

ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST

in the lp days you tried to end side one with a strong track, which results with the "man With a Harmonca appearing halfway thru.
On the other hand, how can the album NOT begin with the classic main theme?

I could care less. The music is everything when it comes to this disaster. I never even think about the film when i listen

Quitte enjoyed the film too back then. The summer of 1989 was a great year smile

TER's original LP of Secret of NIMH was sequenced mostly in the same order it appeared in the film, and it flowed beautifully. I was (to say the least) baffled when I acquired the Varese CD, and found they had ruined a perfectly listenable playlist.

I don't know how these things are done but it's like the audio guy just grabbed all the tracks off of the masters and dropped them into playlist in one fell swoop. Like no thought was put into creating an appropriate playlist. Either film order or into a pleasant album presentation. As it turns out film order works best because the film itself is very well paced.
