NBC---the network and Brian Williams are in talks to keep Williams at the network but not in his news anchor position.

In related news, Brian Williams reports he isn't sure he'll be able to come back, what with his conflicting schedule as the Queen of England. He deeply regrets it, since he still misses his early days there when he founded NBC and laid the foundation it was built upon.

That Brian Williams story is all cover stuff, he will be gone, they hate him.

Brilliant move by Disney to shelve Tron3.

Brilliant move by Disney to shelve Tron3.

You can thank Tomorrowland's disappointing performance.

I enjoyed Legacy, but don't want a sequel every five minutes either. Tomorrowland looked asinine to begin with.

I knew it would take them a few years to get around to making it, but I didn't expect them to yank it.

They know they can just stack up the bills with Marvel and Star Wars movies, anyway.

Tomorrowland from what I can tell was an odd sell. A sci-fi movie for preteen girls? Really a completely different demo than Tron.

I really do not think they had a story for Tron 3, and it is a really expensive project, with sketchy chance of real profit. The spent a bundle on 2, and another bundle on marketing, it looked profitable, but it was not really.

I do not think Tomorrowland is perfect, but it is hardly asinine. It does not have the paint by numbers blockbuster marvel violent showdown third act, for that, and some other reasons, I think it is a decent picture, it might need to be chewed, instead of drunk with a straw look other fare, but that is okay.

I was surprised by the number of mixed and negative reviews, as opposed to Mad Max: Fury Road, which has resonated amazingly well with just about everyone. Of course, there is the 5-7% that hate it, but it's gone over (much) better than Whedon's Age of Regurgitron.

I think you hit the nail on the head with Tron's lack of merchandising success. If the toy line was successful I think it would be financially smart for them to continue the series even if the films underperformed at the box office. But since it under performed in both respects, (also lets not forget the failed animated series) probably best they dropped this franchise. (Though I've said I would be interested in seeing another film)

I don't think Tomorrowland is asinine, it seemed like an interesting idea and I didn't dislike the previews. I just think a sci-fi adventure starring girls is a hard sell. Who is the demographic? It might have done better if they were boys, or at least a boy and girl.

I think you are right about the challenges for a young female lead in Tomorrowland, although it should not be that way. Divergent had a middling success, although I do not like those pictures that much, and I think Britt Robertson in Tomorrowland is a better actress.

When I was watching it I thought that Tomorrowland is the best Star Trek movie that we have had in many years.

Just a side note I didn't know Robertson was 25! She looks like a 16 year old in the Tomorrowland previews.

Bummer about Tron. One of the few sequels I was excited about because I thought Legacy was fantastic.

Yeah, she looks much younger than she is. I think she comes across very natural in her acting, and she is charming and rather beautiful as well.
