My first order with soundtrack-club.net was 1987, and for some years I know the owner, Mr. Krohn, personally. We both live in Hamburg and he was always kind and delivered the items I ordered - sometimes month later, but my order was always complete in the end.

A few days ago I asked him via eMail when he would add the new Varèse Club titles and Intrada CD's. He wrote back and said that he has right now family and health problems and that his online shop is something like halted. He also recommended that I should buy elsewhere some items which I expect to be going fast out of print.

But he asked me also to be faithful to him which I will be. He tries to do everything to get his online shop up and running again. Same with already placed orders.

All I can say is that this is a one man company and if he has problems, I hope he will solve them in time. I have no worries that i will get my already ordered CD's.

Merry Goldsmith - thank you ever so much! I really appreciate you finding out this information for me.

A four-week strike you say? Well, I guess that would explain the delay (so it's not just the UK that has such strikes! - Mind you, a four week one does sound extraordinary; that must have had quite some impact over there.)

Many thanks also to you guys, JC and The Thing. I will keep note of your advice in case I need to make claim at any point, but fingers-crossed it won't come to that.

I should have joined this forum long ago - I've been bowled over by the speedy and helpful replies to my posts ever since I've had this order issue. So thanks everyone!

Take care all.

Hi Holger,
Thanks for the information about Mr. Krohn. I am very sorry to hear that he has had personal problems and I sincerely hope he is okay. From this, it is now easy to understand the initial delay with the order. I will send him an email to express my understanding and best wishes (and also to say that, with the kind help of this forum, I now understand the continued delay due the recent postal strike).

Kind regards.

That should just be a case of filling in a claim form, and waiting for repayment.

No. You need the original receipt from the post office in Germany and normal letters or small packages sent as registred airmail are just insured up to 34 EUR.

OK, perhaps I'm unsure on the procedure then. Maybe the sender would need to file a claim, rather than the recipient.

Anyway, if the site owner has personal issues preventing him from offering a proper service, then he should close his online shop until a time when he can run it properly. He shouldn't have to hide behind excuses or sob-stories. He's taking people's money and causing them grief, when those customers could just go elsewhere to get a proper hassle-free service. It's not the customers' fault, but they are getting caught up in what appears to be a dodgy/unreliable provider, and they shouldn't have to be subjected to that sort of stress.

Any news as to whether Mr. Krohn is back in business? Site is active but most recent stock is from 2015

The company (a German GmbH) was deleted in March 2016. The website is all that remains. Mr. Krohn won't come back.

Thanks for the information. Any details as to why it was wound up?

The company was deleted by law because it was impecunious. That's all what's known. But the "Soundtrack-Club" is history.

That's a pity. If you have Mr. Korn's email I'd like to get in touch with him. I've tried info@barbarella-media.de and surprisingly it is no longer active.

I ordered 4 CDs from them fro €89 on 30th December 2016. I haven't received anything and if I try to contact them the emails bounce back. The money has transfered and paid into an account for Barbarella Media. I think I've been had. Anybody know of a phone number for them? There is nothing on their site.

The company does not exist anymore. The bank account was dissolved back in July 2015.

Some more information on this.

https://www.kompany.com/p/de/hrb5221pi%20pinneberg

The site shows that the company was closed by law in March 2016. If you can read German, visit the German Soundtrack-Board. In the thread below you can read various reports, starting in April/May 2015, from customers waiting for their CDs. Some customers who paid got their money back from the bank because the bank account was dissolved. Emails bounced, no telephone calls were answered.

https://www.soundtrack-board.de/topic/202-händler-soundtrack-club

As advice for gdair:

1. Never ever use your email address as login-name in open forums.
2. Never ever transfer money to a bank account unless someone sends you an invoice.
3. Talk to your bank, if you have transferred money to the account listed on the website. This account is not existent anymore and the money should have come back to you.

The Soundtrack-Club website lists a telephone number, by the way. Click on "Impressum". But you won't get an answer there. The website is a zombie. You can order everything, but you will receive nothing.

Finally an official stop to the ghost shop at http://soundtrack-club.net/. No real news (nothing about the personal fate of the owner either), but at least no newbies will be misled into trying to order anything anymore.

RIP. I bought a CD or two from them way back when. Sorry to see another one bite the dust, but I also feel for those who got burned when they went grey. There's no excuse for taking people's money when you can't supply the goods.
