I just got home from seeing it, and I loved it! Not near as much as MAD MAX: FURY ROAD mind you, no movie can top that one for me. But JURASSIC WORLD was a solid movie, the best JURASSIC PARK sequel in my opinion. However I also loved THE LOST WORLD: JURASSIC PARK so I probably just lost all you guys. Your thoughts please.smile

I never understood the hate for Lost World, I think that it is a very successful and massive action movie.
The set pieces and effects are extremely impressive, and it is the last movie with all of our characters. I think the Lost World is almost just as good as the first one. But yeah, we are kinda alone on our Lost World love.

I have not seen this one yet.

I enjoyed (and still do) The Lost World: Jurassic Park immensely.....it has a couple of duff moments, but in general it's a worthy sequel.

My only regret with the entire franchise is that so much of the source material was ditched, even to the point of ignoring the entire main plot point of the original book.

I still think there's a good movie or two to be made out of Crichton's books.

I am seeing Jurassic World at a late night showing tonight - IMAX 3D - will report back!

If you love Lost World I guess you will like Jurassic World because from everything I read its just as idiotic.

Here's a partial quote from someone on IMDB regarding this latest film:

Yes, the raptors are on Pratts side to help take down the Hybrid, but then the Hybrid speaks to them so they turn on Pratt and his "team" and kill off most of them. After that they attack Pratt, Bryce and the kids and corner them. Pratt speaks to them, and they decide they are on his side again, give him a head nod letting him know they are cool, he smiles, they attack the Hybrid.

Later the TRex gives the Raptor a head nod, almost saying thank you for helping me, then walks away calmly. Then the Raptor gets a look on his face like he is about to attack and Pratt shakes his head and the Raptor almost smiles and runs away...

I personally think LW is one of the worst mainstream films ever made.

Do you have to trash every movie?

I just quoted what I read. Lost World is an abysmal film in every way. My opinion.

Saw it today in IMAX 3-D with a very sizeable crowd. It certainly is a fun thrill ride, everything that you should expect a summer action flick to be. It has a solid cast(and a hot lead I might add in Chris Pratt), great effects and it moves along briskly.

You get a really great, realistic sense of a theme park in terms of the crowds and heat, etc. When things go into the toilet, it's done very well. John William's original themes are front and center several times and was great to hear them and were well spotted.

The Idomindable Rex is a scary creature I might add and the filmmakers don't hold back on the "crunch and munch factor". And they throw in a tasty yet nasty little plot twist that I didn't see coming either. While some people have criticized or complained regarding the raptors and their relationship with Pratts character. I for one bought it and it worked in the movie for the most part.

Regarding Chris Pratt, after seeing his fun turn in "Guardians of the Galaxy" and now this, he certainly has my nod of approval for being the next Indiana Jones, if they do go that route. He'd be perfect for it.

Yes, there are a couple of moments that you see coming a mile away, including the finale. And there are more than a couple of plot holes. But hey, overall its an exciting picture and it iss fun. It pays great homage to the original and rightly so and does it justice by being well made sequel.

7 out of 10

First, do you believe everything your read? Why on earth would you want to read some troll's review that pretty much spoils the movie? Unless that is you decided you were not going to see it anyway, so that would make sense and you drink that person's cool-aid.

Second, you must not see very many movies then. If you really think that LW is one of the worst mainstream movies EVER made, well you have some major shocks coming to your system I'm sorry to say. But hey, to each their own.

Jurassic World is a fun and exciting film that pays great homage to the original by being well done and tipping its hat more than once to it during the film.

I like you solium, but when it comes to movies you can be kind of a buzzkill sometimes.

Hey, don't feel too bad, henry. Solium and Ado tag-teamed and attempted to kill the hell out of my Avengers: Age of Ultron buzz, but as Cap himself said, "If you get killed, walk it off." And I did. wink

I've seen plenty of great mainstream movies over the years. Aliens 1&2, Terminator 1&2 , ST2WOK, Rocketeer, Die Hard, I can go on and on listing well made popcorn movies. But LW is beyond ridiculous. I'll give you one example, a T-rex is in a cargo hold of a ship, some how breaks out, gets to the bridge (without damaging anything) tears the boat crew apart, then sneaks back down into the cargo hold before it aimlessly crashes onto the shore. Then not until someone opens the cargo hold doors said T-Rex pops out again! This latest movie based on what I read (confirmed from numerous posts) sounds like LW X 10.

I don't want that, I welcome different views, but yours are always negative for just about every movie.

I thoroughly enjoyed Jurassic World....can't comment on the 3D as it was a last minute flat showing after their system messed up or something...I got a free ticket out of it....it's fine.

Proper popcorn summer blockbuster, with more than enough (well done) thrills and spills, and a high adventure spirit that is so often missing. A few quibbles, but in general a great event movie, and a worthy successor to the original - certainly trumping part 3, and easily snapping at part 2's heels. Plenty of twists and turns, generally great pacing, excellent effects, mostly great score, all in all one nice package.

Have not seen it yet...
but from watching the trailer i have this observation:

you have to give the producers of this series credit.
Each sequel has been pretty much a rehash or remake of the original JURASSIC PARK , yet they have managed to come up with at least one clever twist to make seeing each one worthwhile:

JP:TLW gave us a T-Rex mother and baby and had her rampaging through San Diego
JPIII: the aviary
JP4: trained velociraptors!!

LOOKING FORWARD to seeing this in 3d- (is itt rue 3d or a conversion?
brm

The last movie with all of our characters? What does that even mean? Sam Neill and Laura Dern don't even return for The Lost World.

Did anyone else spot Jeff Goldblum in the movie.

Yes, he is in it!
