Some time ago I ran across a very positive review of the score by Jerry Styner to a film called The Genesis Children. After reading some reviews of the film it doesn't sound like something I actually want to watch, but I'd be interested in hearing the music (although it looks like the composer mainly wrote songs for beach movies and scores for exploitation films). Does anyone know anything about this score and whether it is possible to hear it apart from the film?

I did some quick searching.

Soundtrackcollector.com shows a soundtrack, limited to 500 copies, but no information on the contents. An internet search doesnmt' show anything either; it must be pretty obscure.

Even though there were a dozen fake uploads of the film to youtube, I finally found the real film. I'll give you some time indexs to check out the music:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DpemG192BiY
First 55 seconds.
4:56 to about 7:00 (I wouldn't advise actually watching it during this point, unless you want to see naked young boys)
8:45 (it's okay to watch it again)
10:10 (opening titles; safe to watch, though it's just a bus traveling montage set to the score; but about 14:40 in, it's no longer safe to watch)
18:41 (another montage score/scene; safe to watch)
26:25 (not safe to watch shortly after it begins)
33:54 (safe to watch; mostly montage in nature)
37:10 (Safe to watch)

That's the first part of the load. I just can't at the moment stomach skimming through it to find score in the other parts. What can I say -- I don't like seeing naked pre-teen/teen boys.

I'll probably rip the score from the film and edit it so nobody has to watch this sorry "art" crap.

Thanks for all the work, Justin. You've confirmed the impression I got from reading reviews of the film. It sounds like someone trying to indulge their personal obsessions by hiding behind the guise of making an "art" film. If it's as you say I'm surprised it can even be posted on youtube. Aren't there certain age restrictions on this type of thing?

It's up to registered Youtube users to flag a video for age-restricted status. When it does get flagged, only logged-in users can watch it (with an age on their account that shows they are 18 or older).

But still, I don't think the film would even meet Youtube/Google's rules for acceptability.

Consider yourself lucky -- some of the scenes and dialogue I saw... you already expressed it. For goodness sakes, at one point there is a man tugging on a rope, right at his crotch, like he's wanking it, as the boys walk by in the back ground.

The score is a very nice orchestral work. Too bad it's for this.
