Of course its legit, I'm sure sure why you would think it is not.

"Sony Classical will release a soundtrack album for Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past – The Rogue Cut".

That's the bit that makes it sound legit.

But I wonder why they're releasing this.

How often does one of the major labels go back to a fairly recent film and provide an expanded soundtrack these days?

It's probably being released due to the no demand whatsoever.

Rarely, probably due to reuse fees. I think that the recent McNeely comedy western score got an expanded release, but in digital only. I'm very surprised that this will be coming out on disc.

Which McNeely score is this? I tend to love his work.

I think the score in question is A Million Ways to Die in the West.

Of course its legit, I'm sure sure why you would think it is not.

A 2CD expanded score rerelease only a year later?Unprecedented. The Phantom Menace is the only exception. And after multiple Titanic releases and a 4CD adding no extra score, who would have thought SONY to give one of their own what looks like something LLL would do?

Also, if release date is 7/10, why not list on Amaxon which usually tells things way in advance?

Thus justifies my questioning.

If this is the case its a delightful surprise and hopeful for futhur expanded treatments on the SONY label.

Yeah, solium, where have you been, man? How often do "Recent," "McNeely" and "comedy western score" come up in life?

The expanded score is digital only, on iTunes.

Wow. I didn't see this happening. I'm grateful it did, just completely did not expect it.

Here's hoping that this set has the film version of the Main Titles, which is different than the album version...

It seems like material from the second half of the score on Disc 2 is mislabeled / out of order again. I wished La-La Land had been able to release this score...they could have done it right.

No “Time's Up (Film Version),” I see. If this new edition has the film version of the main title, it may not supplant the original release (which also has the two songs, which, while not the focus of interest on this board, were used quite well in the film).

Ottman has always been committed to having every note of his music released. That he got Sony to bite on this score is weird but it's no surprise from the composer.

Exactly. This release is happening because Ottman wanted it to happen. No one should be getting their hopes up for similar soundtrack expansions from Sony in the future. Certainly not immediate ones like this.
