THE MUSIC OF JAMES HORNER (1953-2015)

Great stuff.

Is there a way to download it? It's awfully long to remain computer-bound for. Will listen either way though.

Many thanks for this, Erik. It will be a good, fitting listen in tribute to Horner's enormous skill and talent that left us too soon, on this reflective and rainy Saturday afternoon and into the evening.

McD, the direct download links for offline listening are as follows:

Thanks for this, Erik. I'm listening now.

To be honest, this is the kind of stuff I need. I don't want to slight news reporters, columnists, etc. and their very nicely written tributes, obituaries, etc. But in times like this, you really want to hear to from those who understand what it's like to be completely and unabashedly in love with not just film music, but James' music.

And, by god, the music. You can't have a tribute to a composer without the music. Thanks so very much for this. smile

Thanks for listening, John. This show was easily the most difficult one I've ever had to produce. The last portion of the show just before I play The Horseman was recorded four times because I couldn't control my emotions.

Composer and FSM message board member, David Coscina, wrote this fantastic little piece of music for my James Horner tribute program. Have a listen!

I couldn't believe this wasn't Horner when you mentioned on the program that David had written it. Nice work, DC!

Erik, just wanted to let you know how much I'm enjoying the program. I was on vacation all last week when the news broke and until this weekend I hadn't gotten a chance to listen to any of Horner's work. I started with your program and it's been a melancholic, reflective, ultimately inspiring trip down memory lane. Really enjoying it. Great work, man.

Thanks Mike. Horner was a huge influence on me especially in the '90s. I'm still having a hard time reconciling his passing.

Thank you for your kind words, Mike. I'm so happy that so many are using the program as a way to help them through this very difficult time!

A great tribute and program with a lot of toughing moments!
Many thanks Erik! Especially The Horseman goes very close to me.
