THE FINEST HOURS---poster released for the movie based on the book about the Coast Guard's attempts to rescue the crews of two sinking oil tankers during a winter storm off the Cape Cod coast in 1952. Chris Pine, Eric Bana and Casey Affleck star.
STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII---a Hong Kong tabloid claims Donnie Yen (SHANGHAI KNIGHTS) will play "Jedi" in the sequel to THE FORCE AWAKENS. The tabloid said Yen beat out Jet Li, Stephen Chow, Daniel Wu, Tony Leung and others for the role.
DOCTOR STRANGE---Rachel McAdams (TRUE DETECTIVE) is in negotiations to play the female lead in the movie starring Benedict Cumberbatch. One source said MAdams will play Clea, but another source said she will play Morgana Blessing.
ROBOPOCALYPSE---concept art released from the shelved Steven Spielberg movie that would have starred Chris Hemsworth and Anne Hathaway.
ASH vs EVIL DEAD---new photo released from the Starz series. Bruce Campbell said, “Sam’s original Delta is back. I’m talking the ‘73 Delta 88. The Classic is back! I’ve driven it. I did a William Shatner power-slide in that car. That’s the only spoiler I’m gonna give you: that Ash and that car — we can power-slide. I met William Shatner on the convention circuit, and I talked about T.J. Hooker. He talked to me about how he power-slides those cars in T.J. Hooker. So I took Shatner’s advice, and I used that advice to do a T.J. Hooker combo-platter — with the Classic — power-slide.”
DUSTIN HOFFMAN---THE GRADUATE star said, "I think right now television is the best that it’s ever been and I think that it’s the worst that film has ever been—in the 50 years that I’ve been doing it, it’s the worst."
JAMES BOND: THE MUSICAL---Merry Saltzman, daughter of Bond producer Harry Saltzman, said a 007 musical is underway for either Broadway or Las Vegas.
HANNIBAL---Bryan Fuller said Amazon and Netflix passed on picking up the series, but it's still being shopped around to other networks.
GHOSTBUSTERS---Neil Casey (SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE) will play the villain in the all-female reboot movie. Andy Garcia (THE UNTOUCHABLES) will play the mayor of New York, and Michael K. Williams (BOARDWALK EMPIRE) will play a character named Hawkins. Williams also has joined the cast of ASSASSIN'S CREED.
MASTERS OF SEX---Emily Kinney (THE WALKING DEAD) will play a sex surrogate volunteer who was a neighbor of the Masters when she was a child.
EMPIRE---singer Kelly Rowland will play Lucious Lyon's mother in flashback scenes.
THE GOOD WIFE---Jeffrey Dean Morgan joins the cast as a private investigator hired by Julianna Margulies.
SUBWAY---the FBI and other law enforcement agents raided the home of Jared Fogle, "The Subway Guy", after the former director of Fogle's charitable foundation was arrested for child pornography. The FBI seized electronics from Fogle's home.
PRINCE CHARMING---Walt Disney Pictures live-action movie underway based on the character that was in SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS, CINDERELLA and SLEEPING BEAUTY.
MUSCLE SHOALS---tv series underway based on the documentary about Rick Hall, founder of the FAME studio in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Johnny Depp and Richard Branson are co-producers.
