Single word movie titles are too easy but I kind of like it when someone in the film says the title in a line of dialogue.

--------------------------------

Danny Glover...

"I suppose we'll have to register you as a Lethal Weapon."

--------------------------------

Hugo Weaving...

"You shall be The Fellowship of the Ring."

--------------------------------

Michael Ironside...

"That's now. In an hour he could have Total Recall."

--------------------------------

Michael Ironside...

"Terminate with Extreme Prejudice."

--------------------------------

Richard Attenborough...

"Dr. Grant. My dear Dr. Satler. Welcome to Jurassic Park."

--------------------------------

Sylvester Stallone...

"They drew First Blood. Not me."

--------------------------------

Reni Santoni...

"Why do they call you Dirty Harry?"

-------------------------------

Christopher Lloyd...

"We're sending you Back to the Future!"

-------------------------------

Ernest Thesiger...

"The Bride of Frankenstein!"

-------------------------------

What films can you think of?

A bit of a cheat as it's spoken by two people...but...

"What a view...."

"....to a kill"

...which makes no sense what soever, and was clearly just an excuse to shoehorn the film's title into the script.

Dirk Bogard .... A Bridge Too Far.

This is really an 'Importance of Being Earnest' thread ...

I'm guessing 'Casablanca', 'Khartoum' and 'Mogambo' don't count ....

Timothy Dalton ~ JB007:

Whoever she was, I probably scared the living daylights out of her ... (or something like that ...)

Caroline Bouquet ~ Melina:

For yours eyes only, darling

Pierce Brosnan ~ JB007:

The world is not enough ... family motto

I'm sure there are many others ...

Could you imagine if this was a stipulation in EVERY film?

Patricia Neal - 'Why Mr. Carpenter: I see you've neutralised the entire planet's electrical systems. Why, this really is the day the earth stood still'.

'Ah Mr. Bond .... You may have evaded Blofeld's lazer, but you will not escape Emilio Largo's exploding whoopee cushion so easily. You will succumb to severe thunderball I fear.'

Liberty 24 pilot

"Liberty Two Four is changing call signs - Liberty Two Four is now Air Force One!"

Bill Pullman

"Today we celebrate our Independence Day!"

Joe Don Baker

"Charley Varrick, last of the independents." I like that. Has s ring of finality.

Peter O'Toole's chat up line in What's New Pussycat, is, what's new pussycat. There's a ton of films where a character quotes the films title. I'll have a think & come back.

Gotta be thousands of these. Certainly most movies with character names.

"S-p-a-rrr-t-a-c-usssss! ...you are he...!"

"Good luck with your assignment, Hemlock, the Eiger Sanction."

Yeah, it's a bit silly counting those.

The intriguing thing is when the film has a long and cumbersome or otherwise artsy title, but it's still repeated in the film. There was a film recently where I saw an example like that, but I can't for the sake of me remember what it was.

Yup, names shouldn't count, there's thousands of films like that. I'm sure someone says, 'You only live twice Mr. Bond', in...You Only Live Twice.
