1973 seems to be a sparse year according to my tastes and as the OP asked for your ONE favourite score, I'll go for Goldsmith's 'Papillon'.

Ordinarily I expect my friends to have wider tastes, but in your case I'm happy to make an exception. smile

If I were a young pup like yourself I'd probably go for The Wicker Man, but given that I'm so old I'm going to choose - as I did in the other thread - Ben-Hur.

Probably for the best TG, as my tastes aren't really that wide ranging to be honest. The only other score I see in my collection from that year is Morricone's 'My Name Is Nobody' and I'm not overly keen on that oneembarrassment

INTOLERANCE.

Lovely picture, I worked on that as a grip when I was in my late 40's. Fond memories. Now everything's all digital and they just light people in post...

For me it's THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE from 1972. Great score!

Well, it was a good year, i could be conventional and go for El Cid or barabbas or west side story..

But im going to go for ..Yojimbo! 1961

Mifune is just such a mean samouri and a cool mother, and the way he walks, his movement, to the music is just a perfect match. I choose Sato's Yojimbo.

1956:

Around The World In Eighty Days
Forbidden Planet
Friendly Persuasion
Giant
Godzilla, King of the Monsters!
Moby Dick
The Searchers
The Ten Commandments

Favorite? Huh boy. Forget it. But for decades I've proclaimed the one at the top of the list as the greatest stand-alone soundtrack ever. It was kismet, just like #7 hitting for the Triple Crown!
