If you grew up with the original Ultraman as I did then this will make you giddy. The trailer was released by Tsubaraya Productions but it's still pretty vague as to what this is.

I liked the "ground cam" shots as he's wrestling with the thing. smile Is it a trailer for an upcoming film? Or was there some significance to the soda can? wink

While I did not ever watch Ultraman as a kid, I did watch Spectreman, Space Giants, Star Blazers, and had one of the Shogun Warriors toys (Mazinga, the large version). Anytime I think of any of those, I think of my dopey late '70s childhood days. Thanks for posting the video.

Ultraman's looking pretty ripped, there.

Looks too much like Pacific Rim. I wonder if he'll have a time limit being exposed to the sun like in the TV series. Could be fun.

Love the shot where he's pushed back into the building. For a non Hollywood effect that was pretty damn cool. In fact this was more exciting than all of Zilla 2014! wink

There are a lot of things I like about this. Untraman looks like a living being instead of a man wearing a suit. His mouth actually moves which allows you to see his effort and exertion. I also think it's cool that he's much smaller than the monster yet able to match it in strength. I always saw Ultraman as sort of a Bruce Lee monster fighter. Small, light, agile, fast, but surprisingly strong.

Well, Pacific Rim actually took all its cues from this kind of material so it's really the other way around. Ultraman actually got his power from the sun... it was fighting in earth's atmosphere which caused his power "to diminish rapidly".
